Jammu, July 28 (Scoop News)- The Harmukh Ganga (Gangbal) Trust (HGGT) and The All Parties Migrants’ Coordination Committee (APMCC) today announced the dates of the 5th annual yatra for Historic Harmukh Ganga (Gangbal) Yatra 2013, which the APMCC started in 2009 after 100 years at the mountainous North East Harmukh Range, 14500 ft above sea level
In a joint statement issued here today by the Vice President Gangbal Trust and National Spokesperson APMCC, King Bharati and General Secretary APMCC Advocate Arun Kandroo, the trust floated by APMCC is going to organise the 5th annual Gangbal Yatra from September 11, 2013 to September 15, 2013 this year for which the registration has formally started today.
Giving details King Bharati said that this year the yatra is being organised by the Gangbal Trust (Regd) which was floated by APMCC some years back as a sole trust for organising yatra, hawan and other religious activities for the Harmukh Ganga.
Bharati said that with the trust managing the activities of the yatra, the pilgrims are going to benefit a lot through well organised system of registration and other facilities being provided during the yatra.
Bharati expressed the hope that this year it will be a boom for Gangbal yatra as hundreds are expected to join the 5-day long yatra from all over India.
Bharati said that the yatries will assemble in Srinagar on September 11 and proceed towards Naran Naag in Kangan Tehsil, of Ganderbal district where they will stay for the night and proceed on foot towards holy Gangbal lake on September 12 for an 8 hour long foot journey while on September 13, on the auspicious day of Ganga Ashtami a joint Shradha of our ancestors and martyrs will be performed alognwith individual Shradha by the pilgrims adding the yatries will return on September 15.
Arun Kandroo while deliberating on the issue said that the yatra has seen significant growth over the past five years adding this year lot of pilgrims were expected during the yatra for which APMCC will extend all kind of external support.
He said that pilgrims who want to register for yatra must do it before August 20, 2013 as after that no application for yatra will be entertained under any circumstances due to security concerns of the yatries adding the forms will be available at various locations including on the Gangbal Trust and APMCC website, facebook pages and profiles even as those who want to join may also send their queries on gangbaltrust@gmail.com, apmcc.kp@gmail.com or contact directly on phone numbers 9419285900, 9419130279, and 9906177543 for further clarification.
He said that the Charri Pujan of Ganga Charri at Naran Naag will be performed at 8 am on September 12 while the Holy Charri will be flagged off at 8:30 am, advising the pilgrims to reach their designated venue well in advance so that they could be taken to Naran Naag in special buses.
King Bharati, Vice President of the Trust and National Spokesperson APMCC informed that Kashmiri Hindus have been immersing the mortal remains of their departed relatives at Gangabal from times immemorial which however was discontinued from last around hundred years.
He said that it was APMCC that restarted the concept of annual Harmukh Ganga yatra for the last five years where hundreds have participated till date and taken holy dip at the Harmukh Ganga.
