Srinagar, November 09 (Scoop News)- To review Muharram-ul-Harram arrangements, Hussaini Peoples Council, Alamgari Bazar convened a general body meeting of office bearers and members here today in which various social organizations participated.
The meeting discussed threadbare various issues related to conduct of processions, arrangement of basic amenities, including drinking water, adequate power supply, ration, kerosene oil availability of LPG and firewood for the people particularly living in Shia dominated areas of the city.
The meeting was presided over by Chairman, Peace Foundation, Fayaz A. Bhat and President, State Government Employees Joint Action Committee, Ajaz Ahmad Khan was the guest of honour.
The participants in their speeches stressed upon local administration to provide all basic amenities to people, repair lanes and drains and ensure security of the processionists during the auspicious days of Muharram.
Earlier, Patron Hussaini People’s Council, Gazanfar Ali Gazanfar apprised the meeting about the steps taken by Council for providing various facilities to people particularly during Muharram. He hoped that Council shall prove to be the asset of society by extending precious blood points to needy at very critical occasions.
Chairperson, Mrs. Posha Majeed, General Secretary, Sheikh Abdul Majid, Vice Chairman, Mustafa Beig, Advisor Master M. Qasim and Press Secretary, Shuja Ali attended the meeting.
On this occasion new members were given oath. They include President Women’s Wing, Khalida Ji and Nighat Nisar.
Others who attended the meeting include President, State Teachers Front, Imtiyaz Ahmad Khan, SKIMS, representative Ishtiyaq Ahmad Beig, President, Medical Employees Federation, Rafaqat Jeelani and representative of Itihad-ul-Muslimeen
