Barbara’s Poetry From The Heart Corner
Ocean waves soak to a standstill
residue leaves frown lines on the shoreline.
We were to meet here today…
I’ve become an outsider to him
no contacts or love notes
given my crimson shedding lost its color.
It’s been three months since my last assurance.
Breakers filter sand between my toes
dregs scurry in the undercurrent.
Daylight withdraws; shuts its shutters
darkness slips in crossing the threshold
swallows my puffed-up shape.
Solitude defeats my character
his insult eradicates my spirit.
I sit here on my own…
until the sun opens it shutters
boosts a sense of faith to mend my self-worth
surrender myself to face a Catch-22.
He was to meet me here at sundown.
