Kupwara,October 16, (Scoop News)- The Programme Officer ICDS Kupwara today organized awareness-cum-workshop for adolescent girls of different ICDS projects of Kupwara district to aware them about the various schemes launched by the Government of India (GoI) and State Governments.
The function was attended by about 800 adolescent girls associated with the ICDS projects of the district under SABLA aim to empower the female community.
The District Development Commissioner, Kupwara Itrat Hussain Rafiqi participated as Chief Guest, the Mission Director for ICDS Dr. G. N Itoo, Joint Director, Deputy director, ADC Kupwara, officers from Health, Tourism, Information, Social welfare, Education, ICDS were also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, the State Mission Director, Dr. G. N. Itoo impressed upon the parents, teachers, administration and concerned departmental authorities associated with the adolescent girls implementing agencies for taking due care of the adolescent girls in respect of their education, nutrition, health care and skill training. He informed that 47,000 adolescent girls are registered with ICDS-SABLA schemes. The skill training certificates were also handed-over among 947 trainees under SABLA.
The DDC Kupwara, Additional Deputy Commissioner, District Social Welfare officer, programme officer, ICDS, District Coordinator JSS, Supervisor and project officers of ICDS also delivered lectures and highlighted different schemes for the old, adolescents, expectant women, new born babies and needy persons launched by the social welfare department under ICDS programme.
The Speakers exhorted upon the concerned to take every care to implement the schemes in letter and spirit so that befitting atmosphere is created for these targeted categories.
The District Social welfare officer, Kupwara informed that an amount of Rs. 1.41 crore have been utilized under various schemes, besides distribution of scholarship under ISSS, IGNoPs, RVM, NFEH, is in progress in District. The print material was also distributed on the occasion.
