The Icelandic government has resigned from power but did not take the chairman and the board of directors of the Icelandic Central Bank with it.
The chairmen of the political parties in Iceland are now talking together and see if it’s possible to form a national government which would consists of members of all parties. In my oppinion that is not likely to happen though and we will probably get government consisting of non parliament members which are specialists in their field and for sure the first task of that government will be to replace the board and the chairman of the Central Bank of Iceland!
Update 26. January 2009 23:00 GMT :
The president of Iceland, Ólafur Ragnar Grímsson, has talked to all the chairmen of the political parties today. The national government option has been ruled out because the PM party will only agree on that if that party will lead that government.
