Realising the frequent threats and imminent dangers from kidnappers, now it is the turn of the parents in Chennai city to get their ID cards from the schools where they admit their children with all their sincerity, duly attested and certified by the school authorities, along with their children. Just imagine that the parents are also hurrying up and searching for their ID cards along with their children!
SBOA school and junior college, Anna Nagar (West) in order to assure students’ safety is following the rule that the parents must carry identity cards if they have to meet their child during the school hours.
J.S.Satyakumari, principal of SBOA school and junior college said that along with education, the safety of the children matter a lot and they had been following this rule for long. And keeping in mind the kidnapping incident that took place last year, the rule had been made more rigid this year and rather than carrying it with the pictures of the students, it is insisted that the parents’ photographs being had.
This parents ID card is a must for parents of the students who are in class V and below., because children below the age of below 10 are vulnerable.
This is the first time a city school is implementing such a system and the initiative is very helpful and all schools must take it up seriously.
Barring a few negative responses, most of the parents are in favour of the introduction of ID cards for parents. After all it is a precautionary step to ensure the safety of their own children.
