Illegal or not, you cannot blame Wendy Brown, 33, for not trying hard enough to attempt a second shot at the days of her troubled youth.
She posed as her own fifteen year-old daughter to enroll in Ashwaubenon High School. She was so convincing that she fooled everyone.
She wanted to be what almost every high school girl dreams of, a cheerleader.
And she did, attending cheerleading practices and even went to a pool party at a fellow cheerleader’s house. She was also issued a cheerleader’s locker.
An employee at the school said that even though Brown looked older than her peers, she maintained a "high school demeanour".
Brown had confided in her that she was bad at math, and was struggling with moving to Wisconsin and her new school from Pahrump Valley High in Nevada.
It was only when her cheque for her uniforms bounced and when she stopped going for classes after the first day of school when authorities started investigating.
The truth: her daughter is living with her maternal grandmother in Nevada, where she is still studying at Pahrump Valley High School.
The school is pressing criminal charges. Brown, who has a history of identity theft, may be jailed for up to 6 years and slapped with a ten thousand dollar fine, if convicted.
