IFS officer drowned in Dal lake during a shikara ride in Dal Lake in Kashmir

 

 Mahesh Chander Dubey senior IFS officer  presently posted as Joint Director Soil Conservation drowned in Dal lake during wind storm on Monday.

Dubey alongwith his wife and two sons had gone for a shikara ride when the wind storm struck.

Joint rescue operation was launched immediately by Disaster Management, Police, Fire Services, Civil Defence, CRPF & LAWDA.

 

Dubey alongwith his family members and other tourists were rescued. However the condition of Dubey was serious and he was immediately referred to SHMS where he was declared brought dead.

 

His wife is presently under treatment at SMHS. Post mortem of Dubey’s body was done today morning at PCR hospital and his dead body sent to his residence at Udhampur.

Masaud Samoon, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Shant Manu Commissioner/Secy Forests, Mehraj Ahmed Kakru Deputy Commissioner Srinagar and senior officers of Police, Forest and Soil Conservation department were present at PCR Srinagar when the body was sent to Udhampur.
