This is the report of a sordid and bizarre story that happened at an Enumclaw, Washington farm in 2005. As reported in The Seattle Times dated July 16, 2005.
I first learned of it by picking up a rumor in a chat room about a similar incident that occurred more recently and perhaps even in 2007. I went ahead did a little leg work, or keyboard work. I began by searching for the death of a man engaged in bestiality and more specifically in anal sex with a horse.
My investigation performed exclusively on the web turned up no reports of such deaths in 2007, however, I did find out about the death of an Enumclaw man that died July 2, at Enumclaw Community Hospital. Medical examiners reported the man died of a perforated colon following anal penetration by a horse, according to The Seattle Times, local news, July 16, 2005. No chargeds were filed in the case because bestiality is not illegal in Washington. Also, it was reported that the stallion was not injured in the incident.
Of more shocking and disturbing details, I learned of a video depicting a sex scene of a man being anally penetrated by a horse. Further investigation found that there exist several video tapes of similar but different men engaging in the same act.
And as often happens in these cases, during such an investigation, a surprise jumps out from out of nowhere. Because I found just such a link to a video of an unidentified man having sex with a horse. The details of which I will not describe here because I deem that they do not bear any journalistic value. But for the integrity of the story I will say that the video does show "a full and extreme penetration". I have learned that many have seen one or more videos and thus there is no agreement whether any show the man who died July 2, 2005, as a result.
My curiosity took me on another journey because, although, I was disturbed I also wished to know from academic sources on the subject of horses, etc. I turned to Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia on the web. Specifically, and as it related to this story I learned the following about the anatomy of a horse. The horse penis when flaccid measures 2.5 – 6cm in diam., and 50cm in length. These numbers are doubled when erect.
I have said that I viewed such a video by accident, and now that I think about it, a true journalist should verify the veracity of rumors before reporting about them. Uselessjunk.com was where I found the link.
My own opinions concerning behavior that is destructive and leads to a certain end is similar to my take about people who abuse drugs, because, as this case documents, a man permitted his own deviant sexual cravings to practice the extreme and that resulted in his death. But I am certain that the Seattle man who was killed by the horse in Enumclaw never planned to die that way.
In postscript, a story appeared in The Stranger; Seattle’s Only Newspaper 12/29/05 – 1/4/06 issue. It is a rather tongue in cheek article purportedly "From the desk of the Enumclaw Horse". The horse apparently is offering his regrets about the whole incident, but that the man did beg the horse to give al it had and the horse politely obliged.
