I think it may be time to impeach the United States government. Republicans and Democrats alike; come one come all! I, and everyone, should be fed up with the entire system. When we elected officials to look out for our best interest, some of us thought they would. As it turns out, however, they are all just trying to keep from having their hides skinned. Republicans want a delay on Obamacare, Democrats say no, Obama says he’ll veto. It’s a vicious cycle and it is playing a vicious game on the American psyche. We, as a people, want betterment for our country while our elected officials just want betterment for their careers. They want to look like the tougher, stance-standing party that never backs down. This macho bravado is just destroying our country! It shows the arrogance and ignorance of both parties. Why should thousands of people have to worry about losing their paycheck every couple of months when a government shutdown is forced to the brink? Why should millions of Americans who already have enough to worry about also have to worry about how our government will punish us for how our elected officials act? We voted for them because we thought they could get things done. In 2008 it was “hope and change”, in 2010 it was the “real hope and change”, and in 2012 it was the “vote us in again so we can do what we’ve always done” elections. Of course, we voted a lot of them back in and we are paying for it by being in the same “pickle” again.
This has to end! We need to get rid of all of the “career” politicians and elect who elections were started for…Americans. Americans who love the country for what it is not Americans who think it needs drastically changed. Americans who think the people know best, not the politicians. Americans who feel passionate about what our country is, not what they think it should be! The America I miss. The America where we were free to wish people a Merry Christmas. The America where our children were allowed a fun Halloween party. The America that the citizens, not the “career” politicians, made. Sure our country can use improvements here and there; but overall this country is great when the government isn’t making a debacle of it. Our school system was great at one time; it is now a laughing stock. Our children used to be taught things of real value, now there taught social skills and a little math and reading here and there. Who did that? The government. Namely, the federal government. Everything the federal government touches turns to mud, the feds are not Midas they don’t have the golden touch, they’re rain to dirt and they just make muddy mess of everything. Do you know why? Because they don’t understand the real issues. They’ve been raised and groomed, mostly, for a career in politics. Real world skills seem to be a thing of the past for elected officials. They live in fantasy world and that is why we need to impeach them on our terms. If we let them impeach each other will all be dead before it happens. Look what is happening right now, the moment I write this, the government is near a partial shutdown because the two parties that rule the country can’t stop and put their interests aside and look out for the American people. They screw up everything and it is because a lot of them have lived a tax-payers funded, privileged life.
The only way I see to change this country around is to get rid of the career politicians and replace them with real everyday Americans. I’m not saying someone with absolutely no experience but I am talking about someone with no political experience. We need intelligent Americans, preferably vets who proudly served our country, who have a great education, who have made their own way, who have real world experience with real issues that everyday Americans like you and I face. If we elected people that fit this categorization we would have someone who would truly and honestly be looking out for the American people. They would know what it’s like and they would have a better grasp of what could use revamping. They would see that America is great because of the boundless opportunities, the freedoms, the diversity, the hearts of the people, they would see that America really is the land of the great, the brave, the rich, the poor, the weak, and the proud! We are a great place and if we had even a few congressmen and women, presidents, and governors who actually saw this, not just say it for the camera, we would be a better place. We would be able to work together and compromise without restricting freedoms and political processes. I understand the disagreements between parties, but I also understand that America is sick and tired of them using us as a chess piece in their game. I think it is time to end their game. I think for the next several elections we should vote in only real Americans, with real issues and real world experience and if I’m wrong it still can’t be worse then this. So when the mid-terms come around in 2014 don’t forget how they have used us and our system as part of their game. We need to remove every single one of them from their office and put in someone who really does care. I know it’s a ways off but don’t forget this and everything else they do from now until then before and after.
