Jammu,March 06 (Scoop News) – Speaker, Legislative Assembly, Mohammad Akbar Lone today asked the government for a statement in the House on Monday, about tabling the recommendations report of the Delimitation Commission in the House.
Responding to the forceful demand of the members to place the report before the House, the Speaker asked the revenue Minister to give a statement in the House on Monday, whether the government would place the report before the House.
Earlier, Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation, Raman Bhalla while replying the question of Ch. Mohammad Ramzan informed the House that the government has received recommendations of the Delimitation Commission for creation of new administrative units in the state, and the report is under examination for taking appropriate action. He said that after completing codal formalities which included financial implication also, the report would be submitted to the Cabinet for approval.
In reply to the supplementaries raised by several legislators which including Saifullah Mir, Kafi-ur-Rehman, Nazir Ahmed Gurezi, A. R. Veeri, Mohammad Sharief Niaz, G. M. Saroori, Abdul Majid Wani, Harshdev Singh, Abdul Haq Khan, Mrt. Mehbooba Mufti and M. Y. Tarigami, the Revenue Minister said that there was not any political interference in working of the Commission. He said the report is under active consideration of the government and the recommendations of the Commission for setting up of new administrative units in the state would be implemented in letter and spirit in due course of time after completing of codal formalities.
Speaker, Mohammad Akbar Lone however, on the strong demand of Members for tabling the recommendations of the Delimitation Commission in the House before implementing the same, directed Revenue Minister that he would present a statement in the House on next Monday whether the Delimitation Commission report would be tabled in the House or not.
