Impressive Views On A Mountain Top

Poetry From The Heart:

I stand on the mountain overlooking the valley
the view’s astonishing and supplied with miracles.
I search for a glimpse of God’s face amid the clouds,
the fall’s chill settles around my shoulders.
I see the striking trees covering the elevations
standing like soldiers lined-up at attention.

Laurel bushes whisper close by like school children,
I eavesdrop to try to make out the conversations.
I stand here alone like I’m reaching out to heaven,
serene and full of anticipations to absorb it all.
The beauty is overwhelming and intoxicating
as I breathe in fresh air and view the scenery.

Across the ridge stands a twelve-point buck deer,
its rack appears strenuous and taxing to carry.
A raccoon seems to curtsey in the distance
as it stands outside its den on hind legs.
A flock of black-birds land in the foliage
squawking as though they’re being attack.

A red bird sets on a branch watching my moves
as I stride toward the crest across the way.
Two rabbits eat clover at the edge of undergrowth,
I marvel at the brown colors of their warm coats.
I do not have to continue to search for God’s face;
it’s here among traces and proofs everywhere I look.

“In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.”
