In a ‘rarest of rare’ case a 30-year-old man, accused of murdering an oracle of a nearby temple, was sentenced to death by a court in Kerala. Shijil, the first accused deserved capital punishment, Principal Sessions judge, R Kamal Pasha said while awarding the death sentence.
Another accused, Subbin has been sentenced to life and a fine of rs two lakh.In case of default, he would have to undergo rigorous imprisonment for four years, the judge said.
Four other accused are still absconding. According to prosecution, the deceased, Shine, (28) was an oracle of the Hunuman-Bhadrakali temple at nearby Koorikkuzhy when he was hacked to death by a six-strong gang during temple festivities in front of women and children on March 27 last year.
