Prelude to Election Day on November 4, things are becoming tense and heated. Days before Halloween, it was revealed that there was a mannequin dressed up as Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, the VP running-mate for GOP Presidential nominee Senator John McCain of Arizona.
This incident was in the West Hollywood area of Los Angeles.
In Battle, England, there is something similar yet different. Still, this incident is pretty entertaining. In the town of Battle, the townsfolk went the extra step. While the hanging of the Palin mannequin is considered extreme, what the people of Battle did would surely take the cake and every ounce of icing available.
Instead of a mannequin, there was a giant effigy. Instead of being hung by a noose, the Palin effigy was stuffed with explosives.
Yes, it was stuffed with explosives. Explosives go BOOM! In this regard, Palin went BOOM!
The effigy was blown up. Cheers had followed afterwards. Underneath the effigy were the words: “Too hot to handle.”
According to Matt Southam, Palin was the one of the most interesting characters. Because of this, the effigy of Palin was chosen.
However, this tradition is believed to be at least over two-hundred years old.
