In China, Different Mobile Behavior Dominates in City and Country

Before coming to Hong Kong, I thought it would be very expensive for me to communicate with my parents. But it turns out I was wrong. The rates for mobile service are unbelievably cheap.

In Mainland China, I pay $0.6 per minute call, in Hong Kong, only $0.25. And by paying $0.25 per minute, you can call anywhere in the world, no different.

For sending text messages, it is $0.1 per message in China Mainland and $1 in Hong Kong. It is expensive in Hong Kong, isn’t it? That is why people in Hong Kong are always calling rather than sending messages, and in China Mainland are sending messages all the time.
