In J&K, 3681 posts created in Education Deptt




Government has approved creation of 3481 posts for 94 Higher Secondary schools and 137 High schools, upgraded during 2005-06 and 2006-07 in the state. Also 200 posts of lecturers for fifth subject in the Higher Secondary are also being filled up.

            Approval to this effect was given by Minister for School Education and Public Enterprises, Peerzada Mohammad Sayeed here today.

            The Minister said that soon after creation of these educational institutions it had become difficult for the government to provide sufficient academic staff to these schools as a result many students suffered on this front. But now, he said, that with the creation of these 3681 posts, the problem has been addressed. He said it would also go a long way in addressing the unemployment problem among highly educated youth.

            Peerzada said that no nation can prosper unless its citizens are not properly educated and added that considering the present socio-politico environment in Kashmir, education has an added role for people. He further said there would be no compromises made on education and all the institutions would be provided with all requirements.

            The 3681 posts which are being advertised soon would include the posts of Principals, lecturers, masters and other required staff.

            On the occasion Secretary Education Mr. G. A. Peer said that there had been a perceptible dearth of staff in the schools particularly in the fifth subject, but hoped that with this step taken by the government, many problems faced by students would be taken care of.
