Baramulla/ Srinagar, September 20 (Scoop News)- Member AICC and Former Minister, Abdul Gani Vakil has said that from the global scene it is
prevalent that dialogue is the only mode to resolve any vexed issue of whatsoever nature.
Therefore, it is imperative upon all the parties particularly Hurriyat Conference to accept this reality and extend whole heartedly their full cooperation in resolving the Kashmir issue, so that aspirations of the people of State are not exploited any more by those having vested interest in keeping the pot boiling here, which will result only
in devastation, destruction and loss of precious lives. Vakil was addressing Party Workers at Nadihal and Ladoora in District Baramulla
While addressing the workers Vakil once again expressed shock and grief over the killing of innocent persons in Shopian and said that these incidents are a blot on the Zero Tolerance
agenda and such type of incidents are unacceptable and unfortunate besides condemnable.
However, he cautioned about playing politics on such incidents and emphasized that it is unjustifiable as politics over the blood of innocents only serves the purpose of those who believe in achieving their goals directly or indirectly at the cost of lives of poor and innocent people.
Vakil impressed upon the authorities to initiate measures in restoring peace and normalcy in the affected areas as Curfew and restrictions can’t remain in force for so long which crops up miseries for commoners and manifests dissent. He said immediate action against culprits and those directly involved in unprovoked firing and subsequent killings is very much inevitable at this crucial juncture because people are at the verge of losing faith in constitutional, judicial and administrative system.
He pointed out that time bound completion of the probe ordered, bringing to book all the culprits is need of hour. He also said that deterrence needs to display to curb Human Rights Violations, unwarranted firing incidents more importantly restoring faith of common masses in the system.
Besides others who addressed the gathering include Sr. Congress Leaders Ghulam Nabi Shah, Haji Mohammad Afzal Khan and Pandit Brij Nath Nehru.
