Indefinite Transport Strike in Karnataka

Transport Agencies and Truck owners go on indefinite strike from today,1st July.

About 45000 trucks will remain stay off the road affecting transport of essential commodities.There is also possibility of rising of prices of raw vegetable cereals another commodities.

The strike is called for protesting against the hike in sales tax on diesel,toll tax and against a highcourt judgement on speed governer rule.

They are demanding to remove sales tax on diesel.

They also demand to remove hike in toll tax.

According to B V Narayanappa, representative of truck owners, Earlier they have to pay Rs 1.35/- per km but now they have to pay Rs 2.40 per km

According to him toll tax should be decreased because number of vehicle plying is increased.
