India Gives 600 Tons of Relief Aid to IDP’S In Sri Lanka

Te Indian Government today handed over a consignment of 600 tons of relief aid to United Nations Residential Representative Mr.Neil Bruhne to distribute among the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in the North. The $3 Million USD consignment contains grocery items, utensils, plastic mats, and clothing including children’s clothes, shows and personal sanitation.

Indian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka Mr. Alock Prasad handed over the relief materials to the UN Residential Representative and said during the media briefing that these releif materials were sufficient to serve all the IDP’S in the north.This relief consignment contains some 60,000 packages.
