Srinagar,May 11, – Welcoming the statement of President Zardari that, “India is no threat to Pakistan” Jammu & Kashmir Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah said that positive thinking of Pak leadership vis-à-vis India would prove catalyst in bettering the relations between two neighbours. He said NC-led coalition Government in Jammu and Kashmir would work for resumption of both channels of dialogue between India and Pakistan and the central government and separatists.
While addressing election rallies in Baramulla district, Omar Abdullah also welcomed participation of Sajjad Lone in the Parliament Elections “You better late than never”, he said, adding Mr. Sajjad’s participation in Lok Sabha elections will have no effect on the strong vote bank of National Conference. “Mr. Sajjad’s participation in election process is a positive development and a welcome step”.
Speaking on the occasion former Minister, MLA and senior NC leader Ch. Mohammad Ramzan reminded the people of the sacrifices and struggle made by National Conference for the political stability and welfare of Jammu and Kashmir and its people. He also raised the demands for Pahari block at Vilgam, Tehsil for Ramhal and Degree College at Kandi Nagri block. The meetings were also addressed by the NC contesting candidate Mr. Sharief-ud-Din Shariq and other leaders of National Conference.
