India is the largest spam sender in Asia and ranks seventh in the world.This survey was conducted by Trend Micro Inc, a global leader in internet content security.
According to the Trend micro Inc , “India is the leader among Asian countries in spam, accounting for more than four percent of the total global spam and is ahead of other Asian countris such as china (3.39 percent ), Replublic of Korea (@.25 percent) and Thailand (2.04 percent) “
Globally, the Russian federation heads the list of spammers accounting for more than 11 percent of total spam, followed by th US at 9.36 percent. The BRIC countries (Brazil , Russia India and China ) together account for around 20 percent of all spam.
Spam means The practice of sending unwanted e-mail messages , frequently with commercial content , In large quantities to an indiscrimainate set of recipients.
This survey says that most spam today is to advertise ‘get-rich-quick’ schemes and similiar dubious products.And also the rapid growth of brodband connections and use of virus distribution by spam have created large collections of “zombie” machines on broadband networks is ready to serve the needs of the spammer.
