JAMMU: Jammu, January 17, (Scoop News)-India and Pakistan today held a flag-meeting for ensuring calm and peace at the Chakan-Da-Bagh crossing point near Poonch in Jammu and Kashmir.
“A Flag Meeting at Battalion Commander’s level was held between India and Pakistan at 1130 hours today along LoC at the Chakan-Da-Bagh crossing point near Poonch,” defence spokesman said.
According to defence spokesman,both delegations were led by Brigadier level officers and discussed various issues related to the cease fire agreement as well as the need to improve responsiveness of existing communication channels. The Indian Army’s concerns about the infiltration attempt in the Krishna Ghati Sector on 13 January 2014 were conveyed in strong terms to the Pakistan delegation. The talks were held in a cordial environment and both sides have agreed to give due consideration to the issues raised by the other side. This meeting is another step forward in the confidence building measures agreed to by both sides during the DGMOs’ level talk held at WAGAH on 24 December 2013.
