Now Osama bin Laden, the patriarch of international terror shop Al-Qaeda, is no more. The hunting down of the poster boy of global Islamic terrorism paved way for another heated debate across the globe. Whether the United States has infringed Pakistan’s national sovereignty when they gunned down Osama within the country’s borders? Obviously that is the topic of those heated discussions.
But as far as India is concerned, what should it learn from this American action? India has been a victim of Islamic terror than United States for many years.
The Mumbai terror attack was the last of its kind and the orchestrators of this bloody attack and under world dons like Dawood Ibrahim are still wandering free in the Islamic state. Otherwise we can say Pakistan is protecting these terrorists by all means. So the question here is, should India try an Abbottabad in Pakistan to nab these inhuman fanatics?
But the Indian government still doesn’t have the guts to execute such a kind of operation in Pakistan or Pakistan occupied Kashmir. Following the Osama episode, the government officially declared, the killing of Osama bin Laden will not change the discourse of Indo-Pak dialogue.
The Osama murder once again makes it clear that Pakistan is a nation that harboring terrorists. Pakistan can’t answer how Osama could have been living under the ISI’s nose. If Pakistan can protect Osama despite of America’s warning in heir land, then think about the favor they can provide for the Mumbai attack conspirators including Hafiz Saeed, Zakiur Rahman Lakhvi, Masood Azar, Sajir Mir…
Still India is continuing the dialogue process with the terror state, like a spineless nation. What an immature foreign policy the nation has been adopting so far?
Yes India Can…
But the Indian Army Chief Gen V K Singh said the right thing. According to him India has the ability to carry out an Abbottabad operation in Pakistan soil.
On May 06, 2011 Gen Singh, in Lucknow, said, “If we get the chance, Indian force’s three wings (Army, Air Force and Navy) are capable of undertaking such tasks.” As a reflex action to this, Pakistan’s Foreign Secretary Salman Bashir warned India: “If any country in South Asia tries to do an Abbottabad in Pakistan soil, it will face severe consequences.”
After the US operation, that killed Osama, without the consent of Pakistan in their soil, there have been strong demands from within and outside India to kill those guilty in the 26/11 Mumbai attack.
Aron, a freelance journalist and observer on international politics, based in Bangalore, opines that India must demand delivery of Dawood and company and that should be priority number one.
“If he sneaks out, tail him and book with Interpol. But the Indian government acts like a pro-jihadi establishment. Therefore we can’t expect this from the present government,” observes Aron.
“India should attack the terror camps in Pakistan rather than conducting futile peace talks,” says Pramod Kumar, another journalist based in India. Now it is more evident that Pakistan is a terror state, a failed state. So what is the relevance of further talks, he asks.
So what is the need of the hour?
India should seriously think to discontinue peace talks with Pakistan. Now it’s the time for severe action. Then only the nation can do justice to those who had lost their lives in protecting national interest.
The immediate move should be to carry a strike on the Pakistan occupied Kashmir and destroy the terror camps there. Then move on to Islamabad.
