The Indian government on Tuesday, in the process of suppressing protests, has killed at least three Neplophone Indians in Darjeeling, West Bengal.
According to the online edition of the Darjeelings Times, many other Neplophone protesters have been injured seriously.
The government is reported to have mobilized paramilitary forces as the Indian police failed to clear away the streets filled with the protesters.
The Indian establishment currently faces Gorkhaland movement aimed at an autonomous state of Nepali-speaking Indian citizens, who complain that the Central Indian government has discriminated against its citizens in Darjeeling because of their Nepali origin.
