Jammu,February 03 (Scoop News) – The Union Home Minister, P. Chidambaram had consultations with the Governor, N. N. Vohra, at Raj Bhavan in Jammu this evening.
The discussions, lasting for over an hour, related to various important security, development and governance issues.
He was received at the airport by Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand, Rural Development Minister, Ali Mohammad Sagar, Minister of State for Cooperatives Dr Manohar Lal Sharma, Deputy Chairman S Arvindar Singh Micky, legislators, senior civil and police officers besides other dignitaries.
He was accompanied by PCC President Professor Saifuddin Soz.
P. Chidambaram would have with breakfast meeting with Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on February 4, which would be followed by a high level security review meeting at CM’s banquet hall after which the Union Minister would fly to Kishtwar before returning to the Union capital. In all meetings, the prevailing situation in the State especially the security scenario, militancy related situation, infiltration attempts and steps required to prevent last year like summer unrest in the Valley this year would be discussed. The CBMs proposed and other recommendations made by the Interlocutors after their four visits to the State would also come up for a review in the meetings.
