The overall security situation was reviewed in the meeting in which various heads of the security forces gave briefs about their performance and achievements.
The Deputy Chief Minister, Tara Chand, GOC-in-C, Northern Command, Officiating Chief Secretary, Samuel Vergesse, Director General Police, Kuldeep Khoda, Union Special Secretary (IS), Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, Khursheed Ahmed Ganai, DG, BSF, DG, CRPF, Spl. Director (IB), GOCs of IX, XVI and XV Corps, Union Joint Secretary (K), Special DG, CRPF, Special DG, BSF (West), Divisional Commissioners of Kashmir and Jammu, ADGP (CID) J&K, GOC 26 Inf Div, Joint Directors, (IB) Kashmir and Jammu, IGs of CRPF, BSF and senior officers were present in the meeting.
Later, Chidambaram and Omar also reviewed the progress of the part of PP related to the security issues at a separate meeting attended by various administrative secretaries of the state government.
The issues pertaining to the construction of tenements for KPs, creation of posts for Kashmiri migrants and their subsequent filling, vacation of buildings by the security forces etc were discussed in detail.
The Home Minister expressed satisfaction and said that undoubtedly good progress has been made and it has to be continued with added zeal.
The Officiating Chief Secretary, Director General of Police and Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister were also present in the meeting besides administrative secretaries of various state departments.
