Addressing a press conference in Jammu this evening, the Union Home Minister said that militancy here is at an all time low, the number of militants neutralized is high and the loss of life on security side is also an all time low, adding, “There is enough sound leadership in Jammu region as far as the security forces are concerned which is reflected by the good results achieved by them in Jammu region.”
Replying to a question regarding infiltration attempts, Mr. Chidambaram said that there is no spurt in infiltration while there have been successes in checking the attempts in infiltration which means that security forces are well in control of the situation.
Replying to another question, the Home Minister said that he was fully satisfied with the functioning of the security forces under the Unified Command
Regarding the ban on pre-paid connections in J&K state, he said that the decision to ban pre-paid mobile connections is a well considered decision taken by the government.
Union Home Minister said that now when the decision has been taken, the service providers will meet the government and present a plan which will take into account the security interests as well as the interests of the consumers. He said that after this the government will take decision on replacing it with a perfectly secure system to ensure the security of the state.

Chidambaram and called for strengthening the Party.
Another deputation of Border Migrant met the Union Home Minister and submitted him a memorandum of their demands.
