Srinagar,July 30 (Vijay Kumar) – “I believe in pious political ethics, upright character and moral principles”, Chief Minister of J&K Omar Abdulla said adding his conviction is that only a person with unblemished character has moral right to hold such positions wherefrom he can serve people with full devotion and sincerity.
Interacting with the media in Srinagar on Thursday evening, Omar Abdullah said that he had full confidence in his innocence but people would have not been convinced so much after they are now following clean chit from the Governor.
The Chief Minister expressed gratitude to the people of the state as well as his colleagues and coalition partners, who stood behind him in the difficult times. He said the blessings of the people have given him strength to come out of the crisis.
“I firmly believe that those who resort to mudslinging get themselves exposed and the present event has not only proved my belief but also cemented it further”, he said.
On a question about ongoing session in the Assembly, the Chief Minister said that we have been mandated by people to solve their problems and address their difficulties. “We should work for redressal of public grievances instead of fighting with each other”, he said and called upon all legislators including opposition to work for fulfilling public demands and resolving their difficulties.
Earlier soon after receiving the communication from the Governor, N. N. Vohra proving innocence of Mr. Omar and advising him to continue as the Chief Minister of the state, Mr. Omar Abdullah visited holy shrines of Darga Sharief Hazratbal and Hazrat Makhdoom Sahib and paid his obeisance there. The Chief Minister prayed for peace and welfare of the people of the state.
He also visited Mausoleum of late Sher-i-Kashmir Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah, whose upright character and strong convictions have always inspired him.
