India’s largest mobile operator Bharti Airtel LTD is looking for acquisition of South African telecom giant MTN.MTN has their network in 21 countries including South Africa, Nigeria, Rwanda, Botswana, Uganda, Afghanistan, Iran.
If this acquisition will take place then the company formed will become sixth Largest mobile operator telecom company of the world. The deal will be biggest for any Indian company so far.
MTN is asking for $50 billion but Bharti is willing to pay $45 billion.However this amount is 4 times of Tata Steels Corus acquisition.
Initially Bharti Airtel’s CEO Sunil Bharti Mittal is interested in buying 51% stake of the company but MTN CEO wants to full takeover of its company.
Beside Bharti Airtel ,China mobile is also interested in buying MTN.
