The Indian Premiere League, the latest ICC approved Cricket sporting sensation, chaired by Lalit Modi, begins its mega twenty twenty matches among its eight leagues on April,18 th. It augurs well for the development of cricket in India and elsewhere in the world, in terms of monetary benefits both for the individual players as well as the franchise holders of the eight leagues located in Mumbai, Kolkatta, Chennai, Delhi, Bangalore, Jaipur, Mohali and Hyderabad.
The IPL has also paved the way for recruiting players from the ICC member countries like India, Pakistan, Srilanka, Bangladesh, Australia, New Zealand, West Indies and South Africa, through sensational open competitive bidding among the eight leagues. But England cricket players of ECB,(the English Cricket Board) already playing county matches in England, has not so for opted to join IPL except Dmitri Mascarenhas, because of their preoccupation and commitment to play in the county matches and also the overlapping of the seasons or schedules of both county matches and the IPL matches.
Hence, Mr.Lalith Modi realizing the non-participation of the English players, of a major cricket playing country, in other words, the country in which cricket originated and from where the cricket spread to other parts of the world, has offered to reschedule the IPL matches from the next year onwards, so that the IPL matches do not overlap with that of English county matches.
The proposed rescheduling of IPL matches from the next year onwards will not only pave the way for the participation of English players but also will avoid overlapping of IPL matches with the county matches being played in England.
