Indian Railways is to sign a 3 year MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) with the French Railways, which is known worldwide for its expertise in high speed trains.
French Railways is to help India in the creation of a similar network of high speed trains in India. Not only high speed, but French expertise is also to be sought on maintenance and upgrading of tracks and signaling system too, which is a necessity for the underdeveloped Indian Railways.
This MoU is to be signed on Wednesday at Delhi. Dominique Bussereau, the French Minister of State for Transport, Energy and Ecology, accompanied by a high level delegation is coming to India on May 12 for the same.
The MoU would be signed at Rail Bhawan in the presence of the French delegation and senior railway officials including Chairman Railway Board KC Jena, expanding the area of co-operatioin between the two railways
