Indian Satellite INSAT- 4CR in Orbit

Yet another mile stone in the history of Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO). Indian scientists successfully launched India’s information and broadcasting satellite INSAT- 4CR in its temporary orbit. It was the fifth mission of the Indian Space shuttle GSLV. This achievement has created a momentum and energy to the Indian space research. This is the third satellite in the INSAT- 4 series. The satellite will be beneficial to the information broadcasting services such as Direct to Home (DTH), Digital Satellite Gathering etc.   The launching of the satellite was on the 2nd of September at Indian time 6.20pm from Sreeharikota, Andhra Pradesh. The launching was scheduled on this Saturday but due to bad weather it was rescheduled. In the last minutes of launching, there appeared technical errors in the countdown clock. After clearing the errors the launch was rescheduled two hours later.  Finally at 6.20pm it was launched successfully.
