ISLAMABAD March 17:-The convicted Indian terrorist Sarbajeet Singh would be executed in Kot Lakhpat jail Lahore on April 1 2008, confirmed Punjab Home Secretary Khusro Pervaiz Khan Monday.
In a brief chat with private TV channel ‘Dawn News’ he said death warrants of the convicted have already been issued on March 14. While mercy appeal of the convicted terrorist was already rejected by President Pervez Musharraf.
Outrightly rejecting chances of his release he said Sarbajeet’s was not a simple case of border crossing by mistake. It was not a simple espionage but was a case where four acts of terrorism were committed and he was fully involved in that.
Innocent lives were lost how can he be released. Also under Pakistani law it is the family of the victim which has the right to pardon if all other efforts failed.
“We don’t think that anybody has approached to the families of the victims. This is the case where sufficient proves are available. On the basis of evidence and proofs he has been convicted and would be hanged on April 1, he concluded
