Indian Union Minister said education is only tool for their betterment & upliftment

Kathua-Jammu, March 31(Scoop News)—Indian Union Minister for Renewal Energy, Dr. Farooq Abdullah today said that education is the only tool for their betterment.

  Addressing a Gujjar and Bakerwal Conference, organized at Lakhanpur, Kathua, Abdullah described the people of Jammu and Kashmir as the epitome of communal harmony, saying, “no divisive force can ever disturb the atmosphere of time tested harmony in our State”.

 He said that because of mobile life of this community, they are facing lot of problems. The Government, he said, also aware of the hardships being faced by them and is trying its best to improve the quality of life of this community. He also exhorted upon the Gujjar Bakerwal community to come forward and ensure higher education of their children so that they can excel in their careers in administration, corporate sector and politics.        

  Dr. Abdullah referred to various schemes of the Minister for Renewable Energy and said that solar lanterns and other devices were highly beneficial in the areas inhabited by the people like Gujjars and Bakerwals.

            The Minister for Forests Mian Altaf also addressed the gathering whereby he promised the gathering that their genuine demands for BPL category, ration cards, state subjects will be looked into.
