He was addressing the cadets after inaugurated the National Cadet Corps Republic Day Camp 2010 in New Delhi on Saturday . Hamid Ansari said that the country has still not been able to utilize the full potential of the youth. The Vice President said that the cadets hailing from different parts of the country, with different linguistic and religious background, represent a ‘Mini India.’ Mohammad Hamid Ansari said that the rigorous discipline the NCC cadets are put through is very useful training of both the body and the mind.
A contingent of smartly turned out NCC cadets drawn from all the three wings namely Army, Navy and Air Force, presented a guard of honour to the Vice President on his arrival at the NCC camp. The Vice President also visited the Hall of Fame where he showed keen interest in the exhibits related to various activities of NCC and Armed Forces.
