India’s first porn star is a housewife

So which of you boys is the next Dhoni?" asks Savita Bhabhi, with her innuendo-laden expression. If you’re wondering what cricket’s got to do with an animated woman in red, she just might have an answer, albeit a naughty one of sorts. The IPE (no relation to the IPL), which is an abbreviation for the Indian Porn Empire, an affiliate porn portal on the Internet has now come up with what they claim to be India’s first toon porn star — Savita Bhabhi. Described by her creators as just a regular Indian woman in the eyes of the world, Savita is a lonely housewife, who has a ravenous appetite for men.

The comic strip, which is available in seven languages including English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Gujarati and Marathi, has two complete episodes as of now. Each episode is updated on a daily basis with a new page replete with explicit panels of Savita indulging in what she does best. It goes without saying that comic book format is by no means an invitation to kids (or even adults for that matter as the content is literally NSFW or "not safe for work").

While the first episode was the story of Savita’s amorous tryst with a travelling lingerie salesman, the second one deals with a topic that’s the centre of every other conversation in the country — cricket. And while the action around the IPL only hots up like the rising temperatures across the country, things get even steamier in cyberspace. The brainchild of a man, who calls himself Deshmukh, Savita’s fan base seems to be craving for more as one of them says, "We just can’t have enough of her. We wish there were more than one page that gets updated every day and more episodes as well."

And it seems the fans are  curious to fill in the vacancies posted by the creators of the toon. According to the team, “Every position is voluntary.  Being a part of the team, you can be the first to see the first updates and be a pioneer of this concept.”

But isn’t propagating lust for a housewife too creepy? Dr R. Narayana Reddy, an eminent sexologist says, “The porn industry thrives on coming up with content that could seem unusual or aberrant in a social context. These individuals are playing on a similar turf by exhibiting lust for a housewife rather than a concubine.”  He adds, “Rather than instigating a man to commit a crime of sorts, these cartoons could affect only those who are unable to differentiate between fantasy and reality.”
