New Zealand – Christchurch:Sachin Tendulkar the Indian batting legend, who scored his 43 century by a superb unbeaten 163 before being forced to retire hurt in the third one-day match against New Zealand in Christchurch on Sunday evening, said in the post-match conference, that he rates the current Indian batting as the best line-up he has been part of.
The Sachin Tendulkar statement would do a world of good to the already impressive confidence of Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s men, as this ultimate tribute has come from a legend who in his 20-years international career has been part of many different teams and played alongside the likes of Kapil Dev, Navjot Singh Sidhu, Mohammad Azharuddin, Sourav Ganguly and Rahul Dravid.
The reason Tendulkar feels the current lot has an edge over the teams that he has been part of in the past is best summed up in this quote that he gave "We got almost five or six guys who can clear the ropes at will. If you have a good four or five over’s in a row, we could end up scoring 50 plus runs. At the back of mind we know that with such an explosive line-up no target is impossible."
