Indicted Nassau County, New York county legislator Roger Corbin (Democrat-Westbury) has filed signatures for the primary election for the Democrat Party’s nomination for his seat. See Rick Brand’s article in the July 16h issue of Newsday "Two veteran LI politicians running despite legal woes" http://www.newsday.com/services/newspaper/printedition/saturday/news/ny-poprim1712976592jul16,0,5899177.story
Previously, I reported and commented on the legal troubles which befell Roger Corbin http//groundreport.com/articles.php?id=2899436 " Urban Renewal Schemer Arrested Over Checks From Developer" .
It remains to be seen whether the Democrat voters who form the majority in Corbin’s district will return him in the September primary when his trial is expected to begin this October. We do not know whether Corbin will be found guilty of lying to federal agents about the checks from the developer or of failing to pay taxes.
But one thing is clear. Roger Corbin is a major practitioner of legalized theft in Nassau County, New York. Unfortunately, there will be no Libertarian candidate for his seat. However, the Libertarian Party of Nassau has nominated four candidates for countywide office who stand foursquare against legalized theft. Please support Gary Donoyan for County Executive, Blay Tarnoff for County Comptroller, Anthony Colleluori for District Attorney and Richard Schulman for County Clerk. Nassau residents deserve an alternative that rejects legalized theft. -30-
