Indo-Pak harmony imperative for development of State:Altaf

 

Jammu, April 01(Scoop News) –    Minister for Forest and Environment, Mian Altaf Ahmad, has said that Indo-Pak relation have direct bearing on the development of Jammu and Kashmir State, especially for the people living in border areas  of the state, adding the good relations are in the best interest of people of the state.

Addressing public meeting at Lam-Pukherni Nowshera district Rajouri, here today.

Mian Altaf, said that Chief Minister  Omer Abdullah is sincere and committed to the welfare, prosperity and complete restoration of peace in the state and wants Indo-Pak  relations to  be strengthened  further. He said National Conference supports peace and friendly relations between the two countries which he said is instrumental in consolidating state centric confidence building measures like trade and communication links for the larger benefit of the people of the state.

He said the people of border areas have suffered the most due to Indo-Pak wars.   

            The Minister said that Jammu and Kashmir is marching fast towards peace and prosperity adding that this only become possible by adopting  pro-people polices initiated by the government. He said focused attention is been given towards the development of all the three regions of the state by equal distribution of funds adding that development of border, remote and hilly areas receive good attention of the government.

            Mian Altaf called upon the people to maintain unity and fight unitedly for their cause. He urged them to impart education to their children to ensure better future for their youngsters.

            The Minister announced for construction of road under PMGSY scheme from Nanyal to Pukherni in Nowshera and directed the concerned for completion of the said road within the stipulated time.

            The people put forth the charter of their demands which include installation of Mobile towers, Upgradation of Middle School to High school and High school Larka to the level of Higher Secondary school, providing of water and power supply.

            The Minister gave patient hearing and assured that their demands would be looked into.      

The Minister was accompanied by Conservator of Forests, Rajouri,  Asif Mehmood, DFO, Nowshera,  Ramesh Kumar, Executive Engineer, PMGSY Nowshera, Mohammad Maqbool, Panches and Sarpanches.
