Los Angeles California. Los Angeles Dodgers shortstop Hanley Ramirez, 30, will be back in the starting lineup for the Los Angeles Dodgers on Sunday.
Ramirez was activated from the 15 day disabled list on Sunday. Ramirez suffered an injury to his right oblique during a baseball game versus the Milwaukee Brewers at Miller Park on August 8.
To make room for Ramirez on the 25 man roster on Sunday, the Dodgers sent infielder Erisbel Arruebarrena, 24, to the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes which is the Class A minor league branch of the Los Angeles Dodgers.
On Sunday the Dodgers will be hosting the New York Mets in the final game of a three game series that is being played at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles.
The return of Ramirez to the starting lineup of the Dodgers will be needed since Ramirez who has played Major League Baseball since making his debut with the Boston Red Sox in 2005 is known for his ability to hit for average, has the ability to steal bases with his speed and play good defense at shortstop.
Ramirez will be a free agent at the end of the 2014 Major League Baseball season. The next two months will be an audition for Ramirez to either remain with the Dodgers next baseball season with a new contract or play for another baseball team in 2015.
