Jammu,April 29 (Scoop News) – As part of its continuing endeavours to provide improved services to the pilgrims visiting the Holy Cave Shrine of Shri Mata Vaishno Deviji, the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board has operationalized the on-line reservation system for availing heli–services on Katra-Sanjichhat-Katra Sector.
Briefing the Governor, Resident of N. N. Vohra, who is the Chairman of the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, Resident of R. K. Goyal, CEO of the Shrine Board, stated that after pursuing an entirely transparent bidding process the one-way passenger fare for heli-travel between Katra and Sanjichhat has come down from Rs. 1225/- per passenger to Rs. 699 per passenger from 1st April, 2011.
Expressing satisfaction at the very significant reduction in the heli-fares, the Governor hoped that a much large number of senior citizens and all physically challenged Yatris would have an opportunity to avail this facility, considering that the heli–service was now available at a very reasonable price. He called for effective day to day monitoring of the heli–operations, to ensure against any complaint whatsoever from the visiting Yatris.
The CEO stated that for the convenience of the pilgrims, the Board has further streamlined the procedure for ticketing of the Helicopter services on Katra-Sanjichhat-Katra sector. He added that the passengers who wish to avail the Heli-services can log-on to the Shrine Board’s website (www.maavaishnodevi.org.) and secure a confirmed e-ticket on real time basis, after making the required payment. They also have the option of availing on-line ticketing facility through the website of the two Heli-Operators, viz M/s Pawan Hans Helicopters Ltd (www.pawanhans.co.in) and M/s Global Vectra Helicorp Ltd. (www.onlineglobalhelicorp.com). Dr. Mandeep Bhandari, Additional CEO clarified that a Yatri possessing an e-Ticket must carry valid proof of identification like Passport, PAN Card, Voter ID Card, Driving License etc, which bears his/her name and other particulars, as per the information provided by them at the time of on-line booking, to secure hassle free access to the Heliports at Katra and Sanjichhat. He advised all pilgrims, who intend to avail the helicopter services to secure a confirmed ticket before finalizing their travel plans.
