A month before the gory blasts in the city of Ahmedabad, a local businessman named Anwar Shiekh had intimated the police that terror attacks were being planned in Ahmedabad.
On June 25, Sheikh called up the Deputy Commissioner of Intelligence (DCI), State Intelligence Bureau (SIB) to inform him about a SIMI meeting that was being conducted near Ambaji Mandir in Yakubpura area of Vadodara.
He had told the SIB that around 42 activists from Madhya Pradesh had come down for the meeting that was being held at the house of Altaf Hussian, an accussed in the 2002 Nehrunagar cycle blast case.
The DCI whom anwar had informed recently transformed to Ahmedabad, and he confirmed, "Yes it is true that we had received the piece of information. we had even conduced investigations but these did not yield anything. All we could find out was that the SIMI activists had come from Madhya Pradesh and had left after having tea".
A common question raised for the people who heard of this news,
"Are the people come from Madhya Pradesh to Gujarat to just take the tea"?
Even simple logic also not traced by Central Intelligence of Bureau who submitted a report on that incident to the Central Government.
