Delhi / J&K:—— After the complete failure of Working Groups
established by Prime Ministers of India Dr Manmohan Singh for Confidence
Building Measures, Government of India engaged three interlocutors to collect
the views from various sections of the society to reach on consensus to solve much
hyped Kashmir issue evolved out of militant insurgency in 1989-90.
Engaged to create pulse for having negotiations among
various separatist groups to Indian government headed by Dr Manmohan Singh,
interlocutors have failed miserably even after extending repeated invitations
to them. “We simply want to go ahead and reach out to all other stake holders
in Jammu and Kashmir,” interlocutor said adding that “we believe that no one
group of stake holders can hold entire dialogue process to ransom”.
“We have taken all happenings into account. We have also received
a document by certain political parties in Delhi stating their stand on the issue,”
Padgankokar said. He added “We will take all these into account. To say one or
the other is good, better, pivotal, central and main is incorrect”.
It not only interlocutors have failed to reach out separatists
but had also created a sense of divide among the people of Jammu region as
populace of erstwhile Doda area have shown uncomfortably with the statement
issue by interlocutors that people of Jammu are asking independence from Kashmir.
Even Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) has expressed discontent
over the interlocutors’ appointment terming their role against patriots of the
state. Experts, meanwhile, were of the view that those smaller groups in state
who appraised their apathies to interlocutors will be shattered after they
(interlocutors) will submit their report and would remain unattended by central
government headed by Congress.
