Srinagar, October 12 (Scoop News) – Today at an impressive function of the members of civil society highlighted the need of Philanthropic and social service to develop an evil and diseases free society.
The function was organized by the International Rotary Club, Kashmir Chapter in association with Jammu and Kashmir Scouts.
The Commandant JAKLI Brig. S.N. Jha, President Rotary club of Kashmir, Mid East Dr. Asrar Sultan Puri, Director DOEACC, A.H. Moon, Director Information, Khawja Farooq Renzushah, Consultant Oncosurgeon, SMHS Hospital, Dr, Javed, Chairman Adventure Tourism Dr. Omar Rafiq, Training Commissioner, J&K Scouts, Nazir Ahmed Nazir, Senior Commissioner, J&K Scouts, Prof. Parray and the large number of students and members of civil society attended the function.
On this occasion, S.N. Jha was appreciated for donating limbs to one handicapped lady and assisting her in implanting the artificial leg efficiently by expert doctors which helped her to regain normal life. The speakers while lauding this philanthropic act said that all the people of the society should come forward to play their vital role in helping needy and physical challenged people who are in dire need of the help from the society. The Rotary club which has reputation all over the world was asked to provide basic facilities to the needy people of the Kashmir also just like other parts of the country and world.
Jha in his address thanked the Chief Commissioner, J&K Scouts for providing him a opportunity in playing Philanthropic role. He said I am always ready to contribute for helping poor and disabled.
While enumerating the achievements of Rotary Club, Dr Asrar said that 20 children of Kashmir having cardiac ailments have been adopted by the Club out of which 6 patients have been cured fully, whereas other cases are in pipeline. He said as human beings we owe to the society and should come forward to help ailing persons. He said a large number of people in Kashmir are ailing with different diseases due to long turmoil who need attention of the society. He said Rotary Club of India was ready to provide relief to the patients suffering from cancer and heart diseases.
The State Chief Commissioner, J&K Scouts and the President Rotary Club Kashmir, Khawaja Farooq Renzushah underscored the need for inculcating the spirit of social belonging among the people in general and called for joint efforts to provide relief and succor to the human beings who are in distress and need care of the society. He said service to humanity is the best form of worship and service to God. He said need of the hour was to develop an evil free society and work for conservation to environment and water bodies.
Moon asked the J&K Scouts to enroll students of the DOEACC in Scouting activities to inculcate discipline and sprit of humanism in them.
Dr. Javed urged the need for increasing social man power and said the increasing number of cancer patients in Kashmir was worrisome adding that especially poor cancer patients need help of the society for treatment of their ailments, as the cost of Chemotherapy is unbearable. He asked the Rotary Club to come forward for rescue of poor cancer patients of Kashmir.
