Kathmandu, 23 September 2011: With the theme of focusing “Internet for all” Internet Society Nepal (ISOC Nepal) organized its 2nd Annual General Meeting here in Kathmandu. The program was attended by varieties of dignitaries from different fields where different issue and problems regarding standardization and its uses were discussed.
“Nepal has a huge prospect regarding IT and is highly at risk of technology due to lack of proper mechanism and adequate policies where organization like ISOC Nepal can play a huge role in surfacing and lobbying the issues in the coming future,” said one of the participant of the AGM.
Speaking at the program Director of Chapter ISOC said, “Internet is not just a commodity it’s the need of all fields, the importance of internet today is growing where its relevancy cannot be questioned but it can be uses can be. ISOC is a nonprofit organization that is expanded in more than 80 countries making it the world’s largest global network of people and organization. We focused on ensuring the internet continues to evolve as a platform for innovation collaboration and economic development. We believe in multi-stakeholder model where we work in cooperation and help of the individual chapters all over the world. They are the once who raise the issues to advocate the problems on standardization and its uses.”
