Today I interviewed Jordan McKay the Managing Director of Internet Radio station Radiowavez.NET it turned out to be quite an interesting interview discovering what made them start up an Internet Radio and also future developments for the station.
Hope you enjoy reading the Interview. If you have any questions please feel free to email me at internetradio@live.co.uk, I have also now subscribed to Twitter so be sure to follow me for brief updates.
Q: What made you (Jordan McKay), Dan Perry and Georgia Kain start up an Internet Radio station?
A: To provide high quality music entertainment and also to offer young budding DJ’s the opportunity to build a portfolio and career platform to get into college, further education and other placements within the media industry. It gives this kids an opportunity to gain further experience in radio from the people we appoint in our management team with the existing experience passing it down.
Q: How do you compete with the competition that there is now involving online radio stations?
A: We strive to offer the best quality and run as much as possible a 24/7 schedule through live broadcasts and our auto DJ system where from Friday 9th October we will be offering a new daytime show of no repeat weekday every Monday – Friday from 9am till 4pm. We also constantly ask listeners what new features they would like to be added to the station and we research to see whether these are practical and if they are… we add them! Not to mention our live MSN account where listeners get to directly interact with the on air presenter during live broadcasts.
Q: Your website is currently on maintenance can I ask why?
A: We’ve had to put our website on maintenance due to receiving issues whilst browsing using Internet Explorer. I can reveal that from Friday 9th October we will have a brand new website compatible with multiple browsers and heaps more of features requested by our listeners.
Q: Georgia Kain is no longer an owner according to your website any reason why?
A: Georgia Kain is still classed as the original Owner and Founder of Radiowavez.NET however she doesn’t take an active role within the station. We are currently in discussions with Georgia for her to become more involved with the stations as the listeners seem to enjoy her unique style of DJing and they would like to see her come back.
Q: What plans do you have for when the new website launches?
A: Well we’re hosting an amazing competition for one lucky radio listener to win an iPod Touch, more details will be revealed on our website from next Friday (9th October) Plus we have a line up of new amazing daytime shows coming to the station and a whole new set-up of weekday evening shows, it should be pretty amazing when it is all set in place. We really can’t wait.
Q: According to your website you applied to host MySpace Battle of The Bands, I’m curious to whether or not you have won this contract?
A: We cannot reveal information on that area at the moment until we are informed from the Production company to release any information regarding the competition we hold here at Radiowavez.
Tonight was only a quick interview with Jordan (McKay) but I’m hoping to hold some more with him and other members of the management team at Radiowavez along with other online radio stations. I’m quite pleased with how quick Radiowavez responded to my email request, still awaiting emails from other online radio stations.
Catch all the latest on Twitter and I’ll be sure to fully report the details later on through Ground Report.
Hope you enjoyed reading.
