He has said that the country doesn’t need to act with haste to enrich its uranium. Olmert implied the only reason for a speedy enrichment would be to develop nuclear weapons. This comment towards Iran comes after a week when the new US intelligence report stated that Iran’s program was halted in 2003.
United States President George W. Bush had said that he is still convinced that Iran is still a thread to the world. Israeli PM Ehud Olmert looks to share Bush’s views towards Iran regardless of it halting the nuclear weapons program.
Iran itself has welcomed the report. The country has always insisted that the nuclear weapons program was halted in 2003.
According to an opposition group in Paris, it says that Iran halted the program in 2003. But, the group says that Iran restarted in 2004 by moving equipment to several sites to avoid detection.
This group is the political wing of Mojahedin-e Khalq, which is a resistance group. It’s labeled as a terrorist group by both the United States and European Union.
