Iranian people roadmap for confronting fundamentalism

“Great, enormous and unforgettable” a participant depicts the gathering. The Iranian resistance held its annual great gathering in Villepinte, Paris, on June 13, 2015.

Tens of thousands of Iranians took part in this gathering from five continents.

Hundreds of prominent dignitaries from the U.S. Europe, Africa and the Middle East took part in the event. Presence of regional leaders in the gathering was remarkable showing the new front in the Middle East against the Ayatollahs ruling Iran.

Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), was the keynote speaker. She delivered her speech among the crowd’s emotion. She discussed plight of Human Rights situation in Iran, the ongoing nuclear talk with the Iranian regime, Ayatollahs meddling in the Middle East and their failures and the solution for these problems.

In addition to the main meeting, the gathering included several side events focusing on particular issues including honoring the memory of martyrs of People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI).

Maryam Rajavi warned about the expansion of fundamentalism in the region and establishment of extremist groups like ISIS and negative role of Ayatollahs in this regard. While the world and particularly Barack Obama have “no strategy” to confront ISIS, the Iranian resistance declared its roadmap for wiping fundamentalism out from the entire region. Rajavi said, “Today, western and Arab world’s policy makers stress that ISIS and Bashar Assad are the two sides of the same coin. I add that the Caliph in Tehran is the godfather of both of them. The fact is that ISIS emerged out of the atrocities perpetrated by Bashar Assad and Maliki committed on orders from the clerical regime,” she added: “I therefore call upon western governments to refrain from taking sides with the Tehran regime,” And about the solution for this crisis, Rajavi stipulated: “the solution is to evict the Iranian regime from the entire region and to topple the Caliph of regression and terrorism Iran.”

In an era in which the Iranian regime is losing altitude in domestic and international field, the Iranian resistance is enjoying widespread international supports growingly.

Despite Hassan Rouhani’s moderate gesture, figures of execution have gone sky-high setting a new record in human rights violation in Iran’s history, “Between the 9 and 26 of April, as many as 98 prisoners are reported to have been executed, an average of over six per day. The latest wave brings the total number of executions since 1 January 2015 to more than 340.” Ahmed Shaheed, the UN Special Rapporteur on Iran, stressed. But in return, Maryam Rajavi’s 10 Points Plan on democratic change in Iran, meets more support.

The speakers called on the U.S. and the UN for ending the siege of Iranian refugees in Camp Liberty, Iraq, imposed by the Iraqi government. “The 2,500 refugees in Camp Liberty are the flag-bearers for the future of Iran,” said Struan Stevenson, President of the Brussels-based institute European Iraqi Freedom Association (EIFA). “They are heroes. I call on the US and the UN to protect these people, not to betray them.”
