Indian administered Kashmir known for its natural beauty worldwide was hit by one of the devastating Flood recently causing lot of havoc to economy and loss of precious human lives..It was a unique tragedy in many ways .It was the first tragedy in any part of the world that hit a urban center (Srinagar) and destroyed all the economic nerve centers of Summer Capital Srinagar .All the economic hubs form Lalchowk to Karanagar to Rambagh were destroyed in one go. There is a silver lining in the dark clouds as some organizations likeIslamic Relief and Research Trust (IRRT), Kashmir is an initiative for just and compassionate society and is a social/charitable enterprise for equitable and sustainable change are doing magnificent job day in and day out to help flood victims .
Mushtaq –ul- Haq Ahmad Sikander , Trustee and Media Spokesperson IRRT Stated – “ As IRRT we are dedicated to cause of Humanity and helping flood victims has for the moment been our first priority .IRRT was established in the year 2000 under the law of the land. It is a non profit, non political, nongovernmental philanthropic organization based in Srinagar, Kashmir, India. It provides humanitarian assistance to poor, needy, destitute, orphans, widows, and in general to victims of conflict and natural calamities regardless of caste, creed, religion, region and gender.”
Professor Hamid Naseem Rafiabadi, Director IRRT Stated -.”We are rendering efforts day in and day out to reach to maximum possible flood affected families. Human hearted masses from around the world should render a helping hand to our efforts by their monetary donations or donations in kind to our organization so that we are able to speed up our relief efforts and reach maximum number of flood hit families,” added Hamid Naseem Rafiabadi.
