Is Delhi unsafe for working Women?          By: maharaj shah

Some six months must have passed when a young up coming journalist Soumya Vishwanathen  was murdered while returning home to Vasant Kunj from work . Somaya was found murdered on a lonely stretch of Nelson Mandela Marg in Vasant Kunj on September 29. In the last six months police has not been able to solve the case and is now contemplating on a reward to be given to any one who provides information which will help crack the case.

News paper reports suggest that police has so far worked on several leads and most of them have now dried up.

Only recently on March 18 another 28 year old working IT executive Jigeesha Ghosh is reported to have been kidnapped and killed for money and the culprits have been already identified and arrested by the help of cctv footages.

The alleged killers withdrew money from using ATM debit and credit cards of the victim and drawing money from different Bank ATM. The culprits soon after killing the victim had gone on a shopping spree with her credit card, they made purchases worth Rs 52000/-

A gang of murderess and looters has been unearthed by the Delhi police and many cases may get solved. But Jigeesha unfortunately has lost her life to the greedy killers. Three gold rings, a gold chain, a silver ring and two phones were reported missing when her body was found. Seven transactions, including two from her debit card and five from her credit card, were made after she disappeared.

Jigeesha was working as an operational manager with Hewitt Associates Noida and was dropped by her office cab round 4.10am out side colony gate in Vasant Vihar where she was living. She was last seen alive by driver and gunman of her cab. This case has again revived the horrors of Soumaya murder case, which still remains a mystery.
